Race weekend Report:
Free Practice:
Alisha had a good start to the weekend, quickly getting onto the pace. However, as she was on a push lap on new tyres, an incident ahead caused a red flag resulting in Alisha having to abord her lap. There was not enough time to following this to warm the tyres and post further lap times and so Alisha finished P5 as a result, but had the potential to be much higher.
Qualifying:
Qualifying turned out to be a tight battle with Alisha's Campos team mate for the final pole position honors of the year. This ended with Alisha loosing out as a result of not being able to gain a tow on the long main straight, along the Las Vega Strip. Alisha therefore qualified in P2 for Race 2 and P7 for the reverse grid Race 1.
Race 1:
Alisha started P7 in the reverse grid race and was able to finish in P3 on track after some good battles and over takes during the race, which saw several safety cars. However, after undergoing post-race scrutineering, the Damped Shaft Assy of the her car was found to have an incorrect Belleville stack configuration and so was subsequently disqualified from the race.
Race 2:
Alisha was able to convert a P2 start into a P2 podium finish in the final race of the season. After loosing the tow to the her team mate ahead towards the last part of the race, Alisha came under extreme pressure from behind. She drove a very clever end to her race holding P2, until on the penultimate lap she was passed at the end of the main straight / strip into the lefthand bend. However, Alisha got an excellent drive out of the bend and was able to mount an immediate attack back, going around the outside on the final corner onto the start finish straight and forcing the other car to defend on the inside and take a tighter line into turn 1. Alisha was able to gain the undercut on the exit of the corner, re-taking P2 and was immediately able to build a small buffer allowing her to finish in a well deserved P2 to end the season. A 1-2 for the team, securing P2 in the Teams Championship overall all as a result for Campos Racing.
