Monday 15th August 2022:
Another weekend completed of the 2022 Ginetta Junior Championship season, this time for weekend 6 @ Snetterton Race Circuit.
The weekend was an extremely challenging one for all drivers with temperatures well above 30 degrees on both days and double that in the cockpit!
SATURDAY 13th AUGUST: Qualifying was tough and Alisha wasn’t able to put her best sectors together and so was lower than her true pace that she has previously shown.
Race 1: 18th - DNF Alisha was ready for a strong race and after a good start had to swerve to avoid a spinning car ahead which then clipped the left rear causing damage to the boot floor and the battery to become dislodged. A lap later she had to retire due to loss of electrics.
Race 2: 17th - 14th A great job by the team saw the car turned around and repaired in time for the second race. This was therefore effectively Alisha’s first race of the weekend and Alisha drove hard making some good passes whilst gaining experience in the unfamiliar track conditions as a result of the high temperatures.
SUNDAY 14th AUGUST: Race 3: 14th - 9th (4th Rookie) Alisha made a good start and immediately made up positions as she set about chasing the pack. She made some solid passes and progress but a gap had formed to the front pack as she battled with others. Alisha then put in some strong laps in clear air to join the front pack by the last lap but ran out of time to make even more progress. A strong solid performance!
