2022 Weekend 4 Croft

Monday 27th June 2022:

Well what a weekend of highs and lows that was @ Croft for the 4th weekend of the Ginetta Junior Championship.

Qualifying was a tough situation with rain threatening and indeed beginning to fall during the limited 3 flying laps, but Alisha managed to put in a great fastest lap to clinch P4 for Race 1 and a second fastest lap for P11 in Race 2.

Race 1: Started 4th - DNF Alisha didn’t get the best of starts with too much wheel spin which dropped her back and by the end of lap 1 was down in 8th position. She pushed hard however and within a few more laps was back up to 5th and pushing for 4th. However, going into the final chicane she was nudged multiple times from behind resulting in her spinning and then being hit again directly on the front causing a large amount of damage to her car. She managed to restart and drove the best she could, notably off the pace, until 3 laps from the end when she had to retire as she lost power relating to some of the damage sustained. Yet another DNF through no fault of her own.

Race 2: 11th to 13th A sterling job by the team saw the car turned around and repaired in time for the second race. A better start but Alisha did suffer some wheel spin again and dropped a place or so. She battled hard but got stuck in the pack and was unable to make any further progress, finishing in 13th.

Yet another tough weekend but Alisha is determined to break this run of bad luck and has shown her pace is improving all the time.

On to Knockhill next on 30th & 31st July!

Once again a huge thank you to everyone in the team - Preptech UK for everything and all the hard work as always!
